A letter for your journey
This service is for pregnancy-related airline documentation where a remote assessment is appropriate. A GP will review your maternity information and travel plans before deciding whether a letter can be issued.
What to have ready
- Your departure and return dates, destination and operating airline.
- Your airline’s current requirements and any form it asks a clinician to complete.
- Recent maternity records, your expected due date and details of any pregnancy complications.
Your questions, answered.
Are airline forms and return travel included?
Include the operating airline’s form and both travel dates with your request. The £49.99 assessment covers a pregnancy travel certificate and a relevant airline form where the GP can complete it safely from the evidence available. Whether one certificate covers both journeys depends on the airline’s validity rules and your pregnancy on each travel date.
Which maternity records are useful?
A dated maternity or scan record showing your name, expected due date and whether this is a single or multiple pregnancy is useful. Include recent antenatal findings and any complications, admissions or advice from your maternity team. The GP may need updated evidence and cannot promise clearance where an examination or specialist advice is needed.
What does the assessment fee include?
The fee includes GP review, a phone or video call if needed for this assessment, and a signed PDF letter if clinically appropriate. Payment does not guarantee a letter. If no letter is issued, the assessment fee is refunded in full.
What if I need a correction?
Contact us with your request reference if you notice an administrative error. One administrative correction is included. New dates, new medical information or a different purpose may require a further assessment; we will explain any fee before you agree.
What happens if my deadline is close?
We review requests as promptly as we can once we have a complete request and payment. Further evidence or a consultation may extend the time to a final decision. We cannot guarantee a letter by your deadline, so please request it in good time.
How are refunds handled?
If no letter is issued, we arrange a full refund to the original payment method and email confirmation. Your payment provider determines when the funds appear in your account. Contact us if you need help tracing a refund.
When might I need a pregnancy fit-to-fly letter?
Your airline may ask for medical documentation from around 28 weeks, but its own rules and your circumstances determine what you need. Check the operating airline’s requirements for both your outbound and return flights. See the NHS guidance on travelling in pregnancy.
What information might the letter need to include?
The airline may require your expected due date, the stage of pregnancy on your travel dates and an opinion on fitness to fly. Provide its exact requirements and any airline form so the GP can decide whether these can be completed from the available evidence.
Do I need a recent maternity record?
Please have recent maternity information available, including your due date, whether you are expecting one baby or more, and any complications or ongoing concerns. The GP may need further information from your maternity team before making a decision.
Does this confirm that I am pregnant?
This letter addresses a pregnancy-related travel request. If you only need documentary confirmation of pregnancy, see our pregnancy confirmation letters.
Can one letter cover my return flight?
This depends on the airline’s requirements, the dates of travel and the clinical assessment. Check both journeys before requesting a letter.
How do I apply?
Complete the secure identity check, questionnaire and payment. A GP will then review your request.
A personal review. A considered decision.
You will confirm your identity and complete the relevant medical questionnaire. A GP will review your information and may request further evidence or a phone or video consultation. Letters will only be issued when clinically appropriate.
A GP reviews each request as promptly as possible. More information or a consultation may be needed before a decision, so we cannot guarantee when a letter will be issued.
If approved, your signed letter is provided as a PDF. We will email instructions for receiving it securely. If no letter is issued, you receive a full refund. The price above covers this assessment.
