Start with your airline’s requirements
An airline may ask for medical information after illness, injury or treatment, or during pregnancy. A general doctor’s letter and an airline medical-clearance form are not always interchangeable.
What to check first
- Check the operating airline’s form, timing and clearance requirements for both journeys.
- Have your departure and return dates, relevant clinical records and any requested form ready.
- For pregnancy-related requests, relevant maternity information may include your due date, whether you are expecting more than one baby and details of any complications.
Your questions, answered.
Does the price include an airline form?
The £39.99 assessment covers a fit-to-fly certificate and a relevant airline form where it can be completed safely within our scope. Send the exact requirements and both travel dates through the secure request form. The airline’s medical team may still need to grant clearance.
What medical evidence is useful?
Relevant evidence may include a recent discharge summary, a treating clinician’s letter, investigation results or records of treatment and recovery. The dates and your current condition matter. Recent surgery, unstable illness or a need for oxygen may require your treating team or an in-person assessment.
What does the assessment fee include?
The fee includes GP review, a phone or video call if needed for this assessment, and a signed PDF letter if clinically appropriate. Payment does not guarantee a letter. If no letter is issued, the assessment fee is refunded in full.
What if I need a correction?
Contact us with your request reference if you notice an administrative error. One administrative correction is included. New dates, new medical information or a different purpose may require a further assessment; we will explain any fee before you agree.
What happens if my deadline is close?
We review requests as promptly as we can once we have a complete request and payment. Further evidence or a consultation may extend the time to a final decision. We cannot guarantee a letter by your deadline, so please request it in good time.
How are refunds handled?
If no letter is issued, we arrange a full refund to the original payment method and email confirmation. Your payment provider determines when the funds appear in your account. Contact us if you need help tracing a refund.
Do pregnancy letters need a separate service?
Pregnancy travel now has its own information page. Explore pregnancy fit-to-fly letters, including what maternity information to have ready. Airline rules vary, so check your airline’s current requirements.
What if I have recently had surgery or been unwell?
Some circumstances require an examination or specialist assessment. We cannot promise clearance from an online form alone.
Is airline medical clearance the same as a letter?
No. Your airline may require its own medical form and a decision from its medical team. Confirm this before arranging evidence.
See British Airways’ medical and pregnancy guidance as one example; always check the airline operating your flight.
Clinical judgement comes first.
You will confirm your identity and then complete the medical request form. A GMC-registered GP will assess your information and may request further evidence or a phone or video consultation. A letter will be issued only when clinically appropriate.
A GP reviews each request as promptly as possible. More information or a consultation may be needed before a decision, so we cannot guarantee when a letter will be issued.
If approved, your signed letter is provided as a PDF. We will email instructions for receiving it securely. If no letter is issued, you receive a full refund. The price above covers this assessment.
