Show what you take and why
Some airlines, border authorities and destination countries ask travellers to carry a letter about prescribed medicines, needles or medical equipment. Our service can consider a letter listing your current prescribed medicines and why you need them. The GP will decide what can be supported by the evidence and assessed remotely.
What to have ready
- Your current repeat prescription or medicine list, showing names, strengths and doses.
- Your travel dates and destination, and any requirements from your airline or the destination country.
- Any medical equipment you will carry, such as needles, inhalers or monitors.
Your questions, answered.
Does a letter guarantee I can take my medicines abroad?
No. Airlines and border authorities make their own decisions. A letter can support you, but it does not override the destination country’s rules.
What does the assessment fee include?
The fee includes GP review, a phone or video call if needed for this assessment, and a signed PDF letter if clinically appropriate. Payment does not guarantee a letter. If no letter is issued, the assessment fee is refunded in full.
What if I need a correction?
Contact us with your request reference if you notice an administrative error. One administrative correction is included. New dates, new medical information or a different purpose may require a further assessment; we will explain any fee before you agree.
What happens if my deadline is close?
We review requests as promptly as we can once we have a complete request and payment. Further evidence or a consultation may extend the time to a final decision. We cannot guarantee a letter by your deadline, so please request it in good time.
How are refunds handled?
If no letter is issued, we arrange a full refund to the original payment method and email confirmation. Your payment provider determines when the funds appear in your account. Contact us if you need help tracing a refund.
Can you include medicines prescribed elsewhere?
The GP can only include medicines supported by the evidence you provide, such as a current repeat prescription or a clinic letter.
Do I need this or a fit-to-fly letter?
If you need confirmation that you are fit to travel, start with our fit-to-fly letters page. This page covers letters about the medicines you carry.
Will the letter include my whole medical history?
A letter should contain only information relevant to its purpose and agreed with you.
A personal review. A considered decision.
You will confirm your identity and complete the relevant medical questionnaire. A GP will review your information and may request further evidence or a phone or video consultation. Letters will only be issued when clinically appropriate.
A GP reviews each request as promptly as possible. More information or a consultation may be needed before a decision, so we cannot guarantee when a letter will be issued.
If approved, your signed letter is provided as a PDF. We will email instructions for receiving it securely. If no letter is issued, you receive a full refund. The price above covers this assessment.
