Explain why you want to see a specialist
Many private consultants, hospitals and insurers ask for a GP referral before an appointment. Our service can consider a referral letter summarising your symptoms and relevant history. The GP will decide what can be supported by the evidence and assessed remotely.
What to have ready
- The specialist, clinic or type of specialist you want to see, if known, and any insurer requirements.
- Your symptoms, how long you have had them and any treatment you have tried.
- Relevant clinical evidence, such as test results or clinic letters, and which information you consent to share.
Your questions, answered.
Can you refer me for NHS treatment?
No. This service provides letters for private care only. NHS referrals are made through your registered NHS GP.
What does the assessment fee include?
The fee includes GP review, a phone or video call if needed for this assessment, and a signed PDF letter if clinically appropriate. Payment does not guarantee a letter. If no letter is issued, the assessment fee is refunded in full.
What if I need a correction?
Contact us with your request reference if you notice an administrative error. One administrative correction is included. New dates, new medical information or a different purpose may require a further assessment; we will explain any fee before you agree.
What happens if my deadline is close?
We review requests as promptly as we can once we have a complete request and payment. Further evidence or a consultation may extend the time to a final decision. We cannot guarantee a letter by your deadline, so please request it in good time.
How are refunds handled?
If no letter is issued, we arrange a full refund to the original payment method and email confirmation. Your payment provider determines when the funds appear in your account. Contact us if you need help tracing a refund.
Does my insurer need anything else?
Some insurers need a pre-authorisation number or their own form. Check with your insurer before you start so the GP can address what they need.
Who receives the referral letter?
If a letter is appropriate, you receive it as a signed PDF to pass on to the specialist or clinic you choose.
Will the specialist receive my whole medical history?
A letter should contain only information relevant to the referral and agreed with you. Check what the specialist or insurer actually needs before requesting it.
A personal review. A considered decision.
You will confirm your identity and complete the relevant medical questionnaire. A GP will review your information and may request further evidence or a phone or video consultation. Letters will only be issued when clinically appropriate.
A GP reviews each request as promptly as possible. More information or a consultation may be needed before a decision, so we cannot guarantee when a letter will be issued.
If approved, your signed letter is provided as a PDF. We will email instructions for receiving it securely. If no letter is issued, you receive a full refund. The price above covers this assessment.
