Service status

Before you request a letter

Choose the letter you need from our medical letters page. Medical information and ID are collected through our secure request forms, not by email.

Need help with your health now? For an emergency call 999 or go to A&E. For urgent medical advice contact NHS 111. Quick GP Access does not provide emergency care.

Accessibility and identity-check support

If a disability, device limitation or difficulty using an automated identity check affects access, email us with a brief description of the help you need. Please do not email ID documents or detailed medical information.

Our preferred identity check uses Stripe Identity: you photograph your photographic ID and take a live selfie, following the on-screen instructions. This helps us confirm that you are the person named on the ID.

If a disability, device limitation or difficulty with the automated check means you need an accessible alternative, securely upload a selfie showing your face while you hold your photographic ID, with the ID visible and readable. The GP may then arrange a short video call to confirm your identity. Please use the secure identity-check route; do not send ID documents or selfies by email.

Identity checks help protect patients, prevent impersonation and ensure that medical assessments and letters relate to the right person. Completing an identity check does not guarantee a letter: the GP must also assess whether your request is clinically appropriate. Identity must be verified before clinical assessment.

If you find a page difficult to use, tell us the page address and the problem. We can discuss an alternative way to provide general information.
